Capilano Suspension Bridge

The bridge is suspended over the river Capilano in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The bridge is 136 meters and it is located at a height of 70 meters. The bridge was built in 1889 by Scottish engineer George McCain.





First, the bridge was made of hemp rope and cedar plank is laid out.



In 1903, hemp rope was replaced with a multi-conductor cable.



In 1956 the bridge was completely rebuilt.



Each year the bridge is almost 800 000 tourists.
