Expedition to Ladakh

Well, let's go. I begin the story of our expedition in the "country" Ladakh. From 1 to June 15, visitors to restaurants free flight " Two Sticks "in Moscow and St. Petersburg to fill out a questionnaire to take part and go on a trip or to Venezuela, or in Tibet. Selected from each city on 8 boys and girls, plus invited to pezdku on a blogger and journalist in each country.

The idea of the two expeditions is to collect water samples from the unspoilt alpine lakes at different ends of the planet and bring them back to Russia for study.

With me went to Tibet on two guys and the girls from St. Petersburg and Moscow. Only 8 people. Even the team we've got a reporter from the magazine Discovery [Info] Dmitry Ternovskii , better known as the "famous blogger Dmitry Ternovskii."

The route of the expedition was to run through the Himalayas at an altitude of 4500 meters and above. If you throw to a height from the plain man, without prior acclimatization, then it is guaranteed starting altitude sickness, that is, it will break, he will split his head and is likely to be indigestion.

Enjoy the mountains in this state is difficult, therefore, before the rise to such heights, people usually spend several days at an altitude of 2000 - 3000 meters - teach your body to the height.

We arrived in the town of Le, which is located at an altitude of 3500 meters and the first day was spent slowly moving around the city, otlezhivayas at the hotel and getting used to life without oxygen. In the evening went to the palace ...

With the boys from St. Petersburg, we met and got acquainted at the Sheremetyevo Airport:

In New Delhi, arrived late at night either, or early morning - around 3:00 am. Employees of the airport at that time just sleeping on the floor under the stairs:

The airport of Le resembles a provincial Russian airport:

The first day of the heaviest, so the program was very easy - all day doing nothing, and in the evening leisurely climb to the ruins of the palace.

Instead of doing nothing, we went to walk around the city center:

A lot of tailors in which you can glimpse from the street:

27.

Milk sold by the glass from the board gruzovka, just like in my childhood. I remember my mother sent me with the milk cans with red polka dots:

28.

All of gravity, as in most other countries in the region, women are hauling on their backs:

29.

Is closer to the sunset, we climbed to the ruins of the temple, Namgyal tsemo:

Architecture is the counterpart of the Potala in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa, underscoring the close ties between Ladakh and Tibet:
