TEEN'S INVENTION COULD CHARGE YOUR PHONE IN 20 SECONDS
Waiting hours for a cellphone to charge may become a thing of the past, thanks to an 18-year-old high-school student's invention. She won a $50,000 prize Friday at an international science fair for creating an energy storage device that can be fully juiced in 20 to 30 seconds.

The fast-charging device is a so-called supercapacitor, a gizmo that can pack a lot of energy into a tiny space, charges quickly and holds its charge for a long time.

What's more, it can last for 10,000 charge-recharge cycles, compared with 1,000 cycles for conventional rechargeable batteries, according to Eesha Khare of Saratoga, Calif.

"My cellphone battery always dies," she told NBC News when asked what inspired her to work on the energy-storage technology. Supercapacitors also allowed her to focus on her interest in nanochemistry — "really working at the nanoscale to make significant advances in many different fields."

To date, she has used the supercapacitor to power a light-emitting diode, or LED. The invention's future is even brighter. She sees it fitting inside cellphones and the other portable electronic devices that are proliferating in today's world, freeing people and their gadgets for a longer time from reliance on electrical outlets.

"It is also flexible, so it can be used in rollup displays and clothing and fabric," Khare added. "It has a lot of different applications and advantages over batteries in that sense."

NASA - THE MOONSTONE

"2, 1, 0, engines began to work, the rocket began to climb, the rocket began to climb, it illuminates the area around here as bright as day!" - Cried on the air controller startup.
"Houston, Tranquility in touch. Eagle Has Landed" - these were the first words of the lunar mission, after landing on the moon.
rocket launch took place on 16 July 1969, 13:32 local time in Florida. After 11 minutes and 53 seconds the rocket was launched into low Earth circular orbit at an altitude 190.8 km., After a few turns around the Earth ship went to the moon.

1. The expedition consisted of three men, Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin Aldrin, all astronauts have traveled 2,389,768 miles, having spent 8 days in space, 3 hrs and 18 minutes, landing in the Pacific Ocean July 24, 1969, where they waited for the aircraft carrier U.S. Navy - Hornet. During the flight, the capsule is strictly kept his course, and required only one adjustment, although it was planned four. 2. After starting the vehicle went into the valley of the Sea of Tranquility, the valley is of great interest to geologists because there were steep cliffs, rolling hills, and a large pile of stones. Thus astronauts will take samples of volcanic rocks relatively young and older, rocks at once. 3. Buggy or Lunar Rover, the car got to the moon first time the Apollo 15 flight. Buggy has a length of 3.1 m, height 1.12 m, weight was only 204 kg. in the world, or 34 kg. at the Lunar gravity load capacity is 450 kg at the Earth's gravity. Left in front of the high-frequency antenna is located next to it - the camera, next to the driver's feet was a second antenna for low frequency, and next to it a second camera. The seats recline beneath them were two small boxes for the collection of rocks, buggy controlled by the joystick, which was located between the seats in the rear of the car was a tool for collecting rocks and drill, just in case, the antenna back - another camera. By the way, all cameras have made about 2,100 images on the Moon, and 22 hours, 4 minutes of video, 4. After a 2 hour 31 minutes and 40 seconds spent on the moon, the astronauts began to gather ago.Altogether, 21.55 kg of lunar rock samples. Now, in the Mission Control Center you can touch the moon, by the way, are available to the public only 8 stones that can be touched. The stone age 3.8 million years. 5. Altogether during the expedition to the moon brought back to Earth 382 kg. rocks from 6 different points of the moon. Research papers have enhanced the understanding of the history of the Earth and the Solar System. 6. Stone on the left is taken from the moon during the Apollo 15 expedition. They write that the stone was formed 4 billion years ago when a meteorite hit, at high temperature and pressure. Stone contains many minerals. Black cube next to the rock indicates minerals, which are part of the breed. Right - a piece of lava. 7. 8. Different elements in pure form, are present in a large amount of stone. 9. By the way, privezennyx rocks were found some of the minerals that are not found on Earth. For those who want to learn more about flying to the moon, I advise you to read the article on Wikipedia . *** See also: NASA - Internal exposure NASA - Training Center

Last Flight to the Moon

The last time people were on the moon over 40 years ago. It was the mission of "Apollo 17", which went from the Earth in December 1972.

Calling Heaven: the building of the first kilometer skyscraper

Just recently I did an overview of the latest news stories and high-rise construction in the world , but life goes on, in March began the construction of the first in the history of mankind skyscraper height of over 1000 meters!  superneboskreb Actually this is supposed to be built in Dubai in the last year (Al Burj), but because of the outbreak of the global financial crisis, the project was canceled in 2009,
the same time overcome the temptation of the first symbolic milestone of 1,000 meters has been so great that there were doing to do this with any financial weather. Ultra-high tower will be built in Saudi Arabia 50 km. from the city of Jeddah. Currently, the project is known as Kingdom_Tower and estimated height should reach 1007 meters, which is about 200 meters surpass the record of the tower Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828 meters)around the Kingdom Tower is to grow a city of 80 million inhabitants. Funny that the palm is a high-rise building is returned to those regions where it once started (Tower of Babel). During the development of the new project has to follow a certain forum . Already published images (visualization) of the future skyscraper:

Gunners news: Vietnam 1-7 Arsenal

Giroud grabs first-half hat-trick in friendly rout

The Frenchman, apparently unruffled by reports linking the Gunners to Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez, took his pre-season tally to five as Jack Wilshere made his bow

Arsenal's Olivier Giroud and Vietnam's Nguyen Gia Tu

Olivier Giroud bagged a first-half hat-trick as Arsenal continued their pre-season tour of Asia with a 7-1 annihilation of Vietnam in Hanoi.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Chuba Akpom and Ignasi Miquel also found the net against the international minnows, while Jack Wilshere made his first appearance of the season from the bench.
Arsene Wenger made five changes to the side which demolished the Indonesia XI on Sunday, with Bacary Sagna filling in at centre-back and Lukas Podolski and Giroud up front.

And inside five minutes they took the lead, with Tomas Rosicky dinking the ball cleverly in behind for Giroud, who smashed the ball low into the bottom corner.

Despite their obvious superiority, the Gunners looked lethargic and even a little jaded at times, and only Vietnam’s lack of attacking quality prevented them encountering more problems.

But in attack Arsene Wenger’s men were creating chances at will, and on 19 minutes Podolski headed over when found by Serge Gnabry’s inviting cross.

Nine minutes later the lively Gnabry’s incisive pass put Podolski clean through, but after dodging past two challenges, Giroud failed to read the German’s pass and the chance went begging.

Five minutes before the break Podolski went even closer, lashing against the post from the edge of the area, with Gnabry seeing his low first-time rebound beaten away.

Arsenal were playing well within themselves against the side languishing in 145th in the Fifa rankings, but two goals in three minutes before half-time put them firmly in control.

On 44 minutes Giroud capitalised on a poor defensive clearance to curl the ball superbly into the corner, and two minutes later he raced onto Oxlade-Chamberlain’s slide-rule pass to dink in.

Having completed his hat-trick the Frenchman was withdrawn at the break, but Arsenal showed no mercy in the second half.

It took barely a minute for substitute Theo Walcott to surge forward down the right and square the ball for Oxlade-Chamberlain, who curled the ball first time into the top corner.

Only 10 minutes later the Gunners were at it again – this time Aaron Ramsey dinked the ball through for Akpom, and Giroud’s replacement slotted calmly into the bottom corner.

Just before the hour mark the youngster had his second, tapping into an empty net after Oxlade-Chamberlain had strolled through a non-existent Vietnamese defence and squared the ball.

On 66 minutes Wilshere replaced Oxlade-Chamberlain, and eight minutes later the Gunners grabbed their seventh, as Miquel swept home after a neat exchange of passes with Ramsey in the penalty area.

Some 12 minutes from time Vietnam got themselves an unlikely consolation, as substitute Tran Manh Dung finished off a flowing counterattack with a slightly scuffed finish which looped into the net.

At the other end, substitute goalkeeper Tran Buu Ngoc saw red for handling outside his area late on, and Arsenal comfortably saw out the win.
